About My Logo

Saffron color signifies the robe of dharma practitioners. A monk is standing on top of the world after renouncing materialistic life, and from him reflects a light, which means his purpose is to serve sentient beings. White color signifies a purely dharma life.

I believe having a logo is not about taking pride, name, and fame. For me, it simply gives identity, nothing more than that. Identity, in the sense, is an ordinarily recognizable feature that we all have, despite our status in society, the religion we follow, the race we're born into, and the kind of intelligence quotient we're born with.

'Reminding Myself' was what I initially decided, but I was not satisfied and expected that a better title would come out as I kept on using the one I incepted. I stumbled upon Instagram through my friend, and this influenced me to create a unique title for my account. Hence, I too started my own account with a normal name. A few years later, after my renunciation, the name 'monk key' popped up in my little brain. I experienced an epiphany that 'monk key' would be the best. Because 'monkey' (not 'monk-key') is one of the most used words in almost bad situations. We have heard people scream, 'Don't be like a monkey.' Even some dishearten us when they utter, 'Hey! you monkey.' I am making a little comparison of life in relation to a monkey and monk key. Only those who feel can understand life better; otherwise, life is a comedy. And this title 'monk key' is understood only when you have read and analyzed it properly before making a quick comment. Generally pointing out, our fluke judgments are as bad as not making any judgments because they can lead to fatal situations. Therefore, it is a confirmation that 'monkey' and 'monk key,' though pronounced in the same way, they have completely different meanings. The former is the name of a wild animal, while the latter is combined of two words: 'monk' and 'key.' I came to realize with 'monkey' and 'monk key' that only hearing is not enough. Therefore, no matter how funny it may be on hearing, it carries a deep meaning. I deliberately chose this because I believe a monk is a key that can help me escape samsaric gyre: born and die uncountable of times in samsara, like falcon that fly in the sky making a round again and again from the same point. And I have to value this key because it's priceless. I wouldn't have gotten this in my past, and I'll not be able to own this in my future too. When I have a key, why should I not rejoice? 'Highlights of my life' is simply what it says directly. Yes, it is a highlight of many events that happen in my life. I update only certain moments and feelings in my digital diary, which is also my life's journal.

Note: Lhatse Lhakpa, from Tibet, is an architect by profession and a singer by passion. He designed my logo and explained those descriptions. He surprised me with such a wonderful logo I can ever afford. I am indebted by his gesture and at the same time, it gave me extra responsibility of being a dharma practitioner.
